Reduction of the mechanical stress to a level which eliminates further damage as well as the repair or restoration of optimum functional dental conditions results in the correction of bite problems and TMJ discomfort. Please review the following cases and the successful results!

BEFORE - Mrs. X complained of waking up with headaches, sore jaws and clicking and locking joints. She required pain medication on a daily basis.

TREATMENT - Examination determined that Mrs. X's pain came from her jaw muscles because of a bite problem. Mrs. X's options were to manage her problem with a removable bite plate or to permanently adjust her bite by a procedure referred to as enmelplasty.

AFTER - Mrs. X chose to treat by enameloplasty. Since treatment, her head and jaw pain have nearly disappeared completely. She no longer requires pain medication and finds it much easier and comfortable to chew. Her jaw occasionally clicks however, but they no longer "get stuck."
